PTFE (polytetrafluoro ethylene) nonstick coated products have the highest operating temperature of any fluoropolymer, extremely low coefficient of friction, good abrasion resistance, and good chemical resistance. PTFE coatings can withstand a maximum use temperature of 600° F. This coating is typically applied to a thickness of 1-2 mils.

PTFE Coated Fasteners - Nuts. Bolts & Washers. |
|
|
| |
Advantages and General Characteristics of PTFE coated Fasteners.
- Non-stick in nature
- Extremely low co-efficient of friction.
- High durability & Good abrasion resistance.
- Excellent corrosion resistance.
- PTFE coated mild steel fasteners are low on cost as compared to stainless steel tasteners and other expensive alloys.
- Provides safety to machineries and infrastructures in corrosive atmospheres.
- Suitable for high temperature fluctuations.
- Torch cutting can be avoided for offshore or marine applications, as it enhances
lubrication and non-stick in nature, maintains a low co-efficient of friction in both
makeup and breakout operations.
- PTFE coated fasteners may often be reused.
- Exhibits excellent chemical resistance and is stable against most chemicals.
